From to at The Ladder Hills, Cairngorms National Park
Leaving the public road at Allenreid we gain the open moor in the Braes of Glenlivet after fording the Livet above Inverblye.
This area is home to both Red Grouse and the rare Black Grouse. Young Golden Eagle may occasionally be seen hunting on the skyline.
Continuing to the Kymah Burn we stop to make a short excursion on foot. Salmon spawn in these waters in late autumn and early winter whilst Otter can sometimes be seen hunting for them.
Turning north west we then follow the course of the Livet back to Allenreid and Tombae - a favourite haunt of Brown Hare and Roe Deer. As the twylight deepens Pipistrelle and Daubentons Bat leave their roosts for the evening hunt.
Come and experience highland wildlife in its natural habitat. Red Deer, Roe Deer, Red Grouse, Brown Hare, Fieldfare, Buzzard and Kestrel are all frequently seen on the Braes Safari as well as several other more common species. Golden Eagle, Hen Harrier, Mountain Hare, Black Grouse, Raven, Dipper, Heron and Snipe are also spotted from time to time.
An off road land rover tour of the Braes of Glenlivet in the Cairngorms. Come and admire the colours as our wild residents prepare for winter.
